Staff Changes

There have been some changes at WASPS recently.  Synetta has stepped down as Manager after many years and has decided to take an administrative role working from home. We would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you for all her hard work and dedication over the years. She will be missed within the setting.

Currently Amie is Acting Manager. Please do not hesitate to get in touch. Hannah has taken the position of Acting Deputy Manager. We have also said goodbye to Faith, who has decided to move on from childcare and we wish her all the best in her new ventures.

Easter Holiday Club

We are running during the Easter holidays. We have put together a fun filled programme for all. The dates we are open are Monday 3rd April to Friday 14th April (excluding bank holidays). Please email or phone to book a place.

Drinking Water and Food

Just a reminder that we have a drinking water policy that means whilst children are in our care, we only provide water or milk for them to drink here and therefore we do not allow juice/squash. If you do put juice in their drinking bottles, we will replace this with water. We have a drinking station within the room and the children are encouraged to use it themselves. This policy is within the early years guidance to promote good oral health for all children. We are also a NUT FREE setting, so please read the packaging before putting it in your child’s lunchbox.

Things for Preschool

There are some resources we are on the lookout for, so if you happen to be having a clear out and getting rid of any of the following, we will happily take accept them for our projects.

- Large stones

- Pots and pans

- Wooden spoons

- Shells

- Metal trinkets

- Baby bottles

- Photo frames

Named Items

Please ensure that your child’s belongings are named including clothes, bags, coats, shoes, drink bottles, snack and lunch boxes. We have already noticed that some items of clothing have come in unnamed and haven’t been taken home. If you would like us to write your child’s name in an item of clothing, we can do this with a sharpie pen. Please let us know during drop off.

Toilet Training/Nappy Changing

If your child is in the process of toilet training, please ensure there are at least four named changes of clothes in their bag. We encourage children regularly to use the toilet, however children get very engrossed in activities and with it being a new environment, accidents are to be expected. If your child is in a nappy, please ensure you provide a minimum of three nappies in their bag. If you would like to leave a bag of nappies within the setting for your child, please do.

Close the Gates

It is essential that all the gates are closed when entering and leaving preschool including the gate leading into the school playground so that the safety of those children still-on-site can be upheld.

Invoicing

We have created a new invoicing email to make invoicing and queries easier. Please check your spam folders and look out for wasps.invoicing@gmail.com over the next week.
