Parent Newsletter, March 2022

As we reach the end of term 1 we have been reflecting on how well the children settled to returning to pre-school and are pleased to say they all settled brilliantly. We hope that you all have a great half term and we will return to pre-school on Tuesday 3rd November 2020.

Staff News

It is with great sadness that we have said goodbye to a member of staff this term. Maddy, who has been working with us since 2014 in both pre-school and after school club, has left the setting. Some of you may know that she recently celebrated getting married and has moved to Scotland with her husband who works in the RAF. Due to unforeseen circumstances, Maddy was unable to return this week to say goodbye herself, however we wish her well in her next steps of life. We have a card available for parents to sign to wish her all the best in her new life available during pick up and drop off sessions if you would like too. This will be sent to her in the coming weeks.

A new member of staff

We are fortunate to have a wonderful new staff member join the team. Amie has joined and is in the process of getting to know all the children. If you see Amie during pick up or drop off then please feel free to say hello.

Staff Changes throughout Term 4

Synetta is having an operation which will require her to have some rest time starting from Monday 7th March. This means the drop off and pick up sessions you will see the staff on rotation handing over. With this said, we will be running with limited staff members and therefore be restricted on how much we can send home about your children on eyLog. Please bear with us whilst we work through a busy period. Any questions feel free to ask for feedback at the end of the day and the team will be happy to speak with you.

Early Drop Off Changes

During the Covid-19 pandemic the pre-school have followed St Laurence School’s drop off times. This term, starting from Monday 7th March 2022, pre-school will revert to the normal times for our early years setting. Please find times below. Early Drop Off Time: 8:45am-9:00am Normal Drop Off Time: 9:00am onwards. The early drop off will revert to being an additional charge which parent’s can book their child into. This will show on your invoice as an additional charge. The fee for early drop off will be £1.14. (A quarter of the standard hourly rate.) If you would like to book your child into this session then please email at wasps.preschool@gmail.com or call the setting on 01865859933. From the Pre-School Team In order to have the correct amount of staff for the children in the building these places will need to be booked and confirmed in advanced. Those who have not booked into the early session please do not drop your child/ren off before 9:00am. Additional charges will apply if you do drop your child/ren off earlier.

Healthy Start Scheme

Judith recently attended an early year’s dental hygiene course, she was given information regarding an NHS scheme known as the Healthy Start Scheme. If you’re more than 10 weeks pregnant or have a child under 4, you may be entitled to get help to buy healthy food and milk. For more information please follow this link: https://www.healthystart.nhs.uk/

Drinking Water

We would like to remind parents that as a setting we have a ‘Food and Drink Policy’ which includes a ‘Water Only Policy’ and would like to ask that the children’s bottles only contain water.
